Our name Mikado TruckingJohn has long been inspired by engine mechanics, especially with the mechanics of steam power. Steam engines of all sorts have been fascinating to him. Although steam had outlived its day by the time he was born, he spent a lot of time learning about the engines that moved our land. He has a passion for trains, especially steam engines. The Mikado steam engine of 2-8-2 wheel arrangement was the most used engine on the rails for freight. It was what nearly every railroad used to haul heavy freight. It was used by every railroad that had rails in the mountain states. We see now that the majority of freight has moved off the rail to trucks. It seems fitting that the company would also be named Mikado Trucking, thus continuing the tradition of moving heavy freight in the country. This also honors his love for the steam era and the role the Mikado engine played in moving freight in our country.

He provides the experience and leadership to bring this company forward in positive growth. Teddi Stinton is the treasurer with 40+ years administration and accounting experience. She brings the balance in finances that stabilizes the company in a profitable stature.
